Oakley Construction Company, Inc., a 100% minority owned firm founded by Augustine K. Afriyie and Anthony S. Kwateng in 1984, serves the public-sector (federal, state and local entities) and the private sector. Oakley Construction is a general contractor and construction management enterprise, with emphasis on industrial, commercial and institutional work.

The company's public-sector clients have included The United States Air Force, The United States Postal Service, The United States Veterans Administration, The State of Illinois, The City Colleges of Chicago, The Chicago Transit Authority, The Chicago Park District, The City of Chicago, The Metropolitan Rail Corporation (METRA), and The Pace (Suburban Bus). In the private-sector, Oakley Construction has completed projects for Commonwealth Edison (as a subcontractor to the Edward Gray Corporation), Illinois Bell (now Ameritech), and Peoples Gas Light and Coke Company.

Oakley's emphasis in construction is in site improvements, concrete, masonry and carpentry work, also interior remodeling. It is a unionized company with a commitment to excellence in its work performance. It has the leadership, manpower and ability to complete projects within budget and assigned timeframe.

In recognition of its achievements, Oakley Construction received an award from the United States Department of Transportation, Urban Mass Transportation Administration's (now, The Federal Transit Administration) Administrator in 1991 for its initiatives in business development and service to the agency.
